Today (September 22, 2024), the water in a canal in Anamizu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, flowed rapidly and was full of mud, as a result of heavy rain that caused flooding and landslides in central Japan. Local authorities in Ishikawa Prefecture said the disaster had killed at least one person and damaged 10 others, while leaving more than 6,000 households without electricity and several without running water.
